The problem of course for us old timers is that is not how the DRGW did it and it may "pop" but it looks very very fake. So far as I can tell, only the K-28's assigned to the Silverton with the fake diamond stacks got the silver smoke box treatment by the DRGW for regular service. Personally I thank Earl for coming up with the gray treatment which provides a much more prototypical look, which is important to me but of course others may not care.
