According to "Taking Stock" by Victor J. Stone, Knott's had four former D&RGW stock cars at one time. They were:
5510
5576
5731
5771
The 5510 and 5576 were converted to "excursion" cars while at Knott's and the 5731 and 5771 were left as stock cars.
According to the Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic, the car was purchased in 1998 from a private individual and has since been used as a parts supply for other projects.

The 5576 was rebuilt at Knott's into a "high side passenger gondola". There is a picture by Randy Babcock on davesriogrande.net of the rebuilt car at Knott's

The 5731 was sold by Knott's to a private individual. There is another Randy Babcock photo on davesriogrande.net of the 5731.
The 5771 was sold by Knott's to a private individual and has since found a home at the Eastern California Museum in Independence, CA (where SP #18 is under restoration)

One interesting note is that both the 5510 and 5576 were among the 27 cars that remained in the D&RGW investment accounts after the abandonment. Since the railroad was unable to locate them, they were presumed to be "lost" and were written off the books as "located in NG territory".
