Maybe I misunderstood your response . The operations I profiled generally had mines a few miles distant from the mill ,for one reason or another . I noted ores were transported by wagon ,truck , aerial tram or rail. I also noted that the Idarado mine in Pandora(Telluride)had the mill directly located at the mine mouth . I was generalizing for the sake of clarity to the good readers here . I think you need to reread my original post .As you noted in the Leadville operations the mills were not within shouting distance of the mines they served . I doubt the miners brought the ore to the mills by wheelbarrow . So what exactly is the nature of your disagreement ? When I describe mills ,I do so from experience . That doesn't come from any $75 books . I respect your knowledge .Please respect mine .
