Pennsy served the Anthracite fields but did not burn the stuff. Here in PA they still ship Anthracite by rail. The upper field is mostly defunct and flooded due to the Knox Mine disaster but the middle and lower fields still produce and are rail served by RBMN, NS, and SVRR to this day. Some Anthracite has also been shipped on CPRS too in the Scranton area. The modern issue with Anthracite is not a lack of coal but too few mines (and miners) producing and a depressed market.
