I was told by the late Charlie Pollock, who was CMO at the White Pass in the late 70's/early80's, that the folks regularly overloaded the old EBT hoopers until one of them actually sagged down to the rail. He tried painting lines inside the cars, but that didn't help. He finally resorted to cutting out sections of the side sheets between the battens so the excess stone would run out of the cars!
