Interesting that someone like Kindig would call it that back then. RWR (?) shot a pic from it of the San Juan. It was on the cover of one the RR Annuals back in 1967 or so. Before they cut the highway through there it was much tougher to get to. You had to hike out to Windy Point, then down the hill and out on to the rock, which at that time was part of the mountainside that forms Windy Point.
For some reason I thought we Chama guys coined the name back in the early 80's. I had never heard the term before then.
But if someone the likes of Kindig used the name, that makes it Official!
