Etrump's warning about density altitude brings back strange memories. There is nothing as dangerous to self as a 250lb pilot, his 200lb wife, a plane full of luggage, and a home airport at low altitude. Combine that menace with a 90 degree day and low atmospheric pressure at altitude above 6,500 ft or so, and call the ambulane when they are taxiing... I managed the Las Vegas NM A.P. for a number of years and had to chase down several crashes out in the junipers-- not fun. Oddly enough, those conditions are ideal for piston engine speed records, and the record is still held by Lyle Shelton and the Rare Bear at Las Vegas.
Of course, that hotrod Bearcat wasn't exactly a Cessna 150......
