All,
Once again, I'm humbled - and very thankful - for your compliments left here, in private messages, emails, and comments added to my website. I truly appreciate it all!
Entering 2014, I stepped aside and evaluated every phase of my workflow, starting with my technical photography skills, and expanding to travel plans, Photoshopping, storage & backup, and a big push with marketing and promoting my brand. I wanted to raise my own personal bar across the board, pushing myself hard. It was a lot of work, but it has all starting to pay off. Not letting any cats out of the bag, but keep an eye out on some very major media outlets in the near future for my name and photos.
Some of my faithful followers have noticed a decline in recent train trips/photos - have no fear. I've been instead temporarily concentrating on fine art material with a 1970's era Mamiya medium format film camera, and doing a lot of work with my "other one track mind": the collaboration with female models. I have made a few trips out to the East Broad Top RR this year, continuing my project with the abandonments of the entire line from Robertsdale to Mount Union. Every time there its incredibly sad seeing everything so vacant, luckily all the locomotives and much of the rolling stock is being kept indoors. Odd seeing rust on the mainline tracks.
I've also taken two beginner photographers under my wing; mentoring them. I see great potential in both, hope they stick with it and apply themselves to their fullest. Nothing better than watching the improvement - such a great way to give back.
Russ mentioned "Art". I'm taking aim at that also; a few of the upper echelon museums in the northeast US. Very exciting!
