Hello everyone,

I went hiking on the ROW from the Durango and Silverton Depot down to Carbon Junction and it got me thinking. I know that the highway and Walmart have drastically changed the landscape there but what did the track do originally. Is it true that the Farmington Branch ran where the river trail is now or was it under Walmart? It is really neat to hike down to Carbon Junction and still see ties in the ground and spikes + tie plates still scattered (if you look hard enough)! Thanks for the help!
