Is there any indication of a crossing around the next curve below 333?

I remember looking at the 1919 ROW maps we had in Chama and it showed the toll road crossings in the narrows.

I wonder why they decided on a subway when an "El" structure would have been easier to build.............

Notice that they call the road US 285/CO 17...
