I was under the impression that the #'s 458 & 459 were in good shape, but were not needed. The NdeM was a ready buyer and the Grand welcomed the money. Seeing that as standard gauge locos they served longer than any of the remaining mudhens, they must not have been in too bad of shape.

Yes, both locomotives were superheated.
