The Gunnison and Salida were sold to Mexico along with other cars (1942 I think). The Shavano head was just attached to one of the parlor cars. I am not sure, but I suspect that it was moved around. My memory is failing me, but I think someone told me that the drum head survived. It was either at the RR Museum or Colorado State Historical Society. The Society had some narrow gauge artifacts on display (a bell from a mudhen for example), but I think they have been put into storage.
Also, I think the artwork was slightly different. I think the Shavano had a pic of Mt. Shavano. I have a color slide of it, will have to check sometime.
