Shavano on Cumbres?????

January 12, 2003 02:31PM
It was interesting to see a picuture of the Shavano drum-head on the rear of the San Juan at the Cumbres depot. From what I understand the Shavano drum-head also had the same picture that we now associate with the San Juan. Does this drum-head still exist? There was also a picture at the Alamosa depot depicting this as well. I am interested in which parlor car it was--the Salida or Gunnison, or was the drum-head simply affixed to the Alamosa, Chama, or Durango? What happened to either of these cars(Salida or Gunnison?) How many drum-heads existed, would it be four, two for the San Juan and two for the Shavano? A lot of questions--thanks for any help with any of these.
