Re: Durango freight cars

Thanks everyone for the information! I'm not surprised the Tacoma freight cars aren't road worthy, but I'm also surprised that a group hasn't gone up to salvage the the metal parts to make new cars. Back in the day, a "rebuild", D&RGW style, was to burn the cars to the ground and build new cars using the metal parts pulled from the ashes.

I'm very excited to hear that the DRHS has more cars. They've done a fantastic job with #315 and the 2 gons - I'm sure the cars they bought are in good hands.

Still curious about the "RGS" car and the water service car in the Durango yard. I'm visiting Durango for the week but will have to check my NG pictorials when I get home.
