folks,
I have ridden that mineature train at thee fair in 1964 and 1965.
Years later I was at the Long Island Railroad Museum and I rode it there also. One of the fair displays was the nose of a Diesesl locomotive where you could sit and get you picutre taken.
the Fair display had he last few feet of a LIRR wooden observation car. All of the displays went to a summer camp someplace in Suffold county.
By the time the museum could get them the observation part was too far gone to save.
Appropiately, I went to the Fair on the LIRR's Port Washington branch. No change at Jamacia; us young kids could not get lost, on the way to and from the Fair.
Later the World's Fair station serviced the Shay Stadum for baseball.
The stadum is now gone so I do not know what they are using it for.
