As long as we're on the subject of Buffalo, I have a question about the track layout that I've been wondering about for a while. According to the 1914 evaluation maps, the DSP&P put in a 1204-foot siding there originally, and nearly every picture that I've seen shows both the mainline and the siding. However, there is ONE Richard Jackson photo at the bottom of page 140 in C&Sng by Mal Ferrell that clearly shows only the main line passing the Buffalo depot in a what I assume must be a very late era picture. It wouldn't seem to make sense to remove a siding at a date that the C&S was trying to abandon the line entirely when it would all be removed soon anyway.
Does anyone have any information about when the siding was removed? Or can someone identify the model and year of the car on the right in the C&Sng picture?
And by the way, the Buffalo Mercantile and warehouses are still standing, as well as that old outhouse on the hillside...
Thanks for the help,
