Very true. Just imagine what historical artifacts were blasted into oblivion when the D&RG, CM, etc laid new track into an area. I too wish that historical artifacts/sites could be preserved, HOWEVER, I also wish to see the local area thrive and the people who live there prosper. This is another reason to follow the old saying of "get it NOW" when it comes to your railfan, etc photography. Everything is constantly changing and you shouldn't assume what's there today will be there next week. No sir, glad to see some prosperity returning to Cripple Creek. Of course, I wish that additional gold mining resulted in renewed rail activity, but that's another story.... :-)
