Doug:
I have been working on a book for the Colorado RR Museum on the Crested Butte, Floresta, and Anthracite branches for a long, long time. I hope to have it completed in a few years. Tours Air Force duty in Germany and a few other matters have delayed the finish. In doing my research, I also accumulated a lot of data on the Baldwin and Pitkin branches.
I have also been working on a book on D&RGW and RGS snow fighting. It will be done before the Crested Butte book. In researching the D&RGs snow fighting operations, I learned quite a bit about the Leadville area and have spent the past three summers exploring the Ibex and Blue River branches. It is a part of the D&RG narrow gauge that seems to have been forgotten in the stampede to cover every square inch of Cumbres and the RGS.
Fascinating area and I would like to write something on it someday.
