Now, I'm not an expert on the usage of some of the cars, but here goes:
OA, OP-Derrick-(Used for picking up derailed cars and engines when rerailing frogs wouldn't do)
OB-Pile Driver (Used for bridge work)
OC-OL, OT-Flanger's (Used for lighter snow removal. Had ice chisels to clear the insides of the rails.)
OM-OO, OY-Rotary Snowplows (Used for large snow drifts up to 14 feet or so high, although they have gone through deeper ones)
OQ-Steam Shovel (Used in construction along the D&RGW)
OR-OS-Air Dump Cars( I think they are simliar in some ways to the drop-bottom gons and were either used for ballast, or some other large rock)
OU-Jordan Spreader (Used for snow removal and keeping the ROW clear)
OV-Spreader (Same as OU in usage, but not a "Jordan" spreader)
OW-OX-Ditchers (Also used for snow removal on occasion, and other simliar tasks like the OU and OV)
OZ-Wrecker (Not really used on the D&RGW NG so far as has been determined, but was used to pick up derailed equipment)
Survivors:
OB-Chama
OC-Golden
OD-Gunnison
OF-Durango
OG-La Jara
OJ-Chama
OK-Chama
OL-Chama
OM-Chama
ON-Near Skagway. Mostly buried, but may someday be retrieved.
OO-Boiler is said to be in Gunnison, and tender was near there, but it's whereabouts are currently unknown.
OP-Chama
OT-on the Georgetown Loop
OU-Chama
OY-Chama
I highly recommend getting Narrow Gauge Pictorial Vol. VII as it has many pictures of each car and physical dimensions.
