Somebody at the roundhouse said it sounded as if we had acquired an aviary. The reason they were squeeling is that most of the cars don't have brasses, and they were running on short pieces of 2x4 lumber that had been inserted to protect the journals for the the short trip. Talk about wooden axle railroading. Now the hard part starts, fixing 'em.
