One interesting point on this date is that Chama ran out of west end crews. When the eastbound freight ran out of time at Lumberton the officials had no choice but to send east end conductor Frank Young, east end engineer Louis J. Oberrich and crew to join west ender Bill Squires in bringing the train to Chama. It was good that they had common seniority.
