It comes down, like most endeavors in this world, to producing a product which appeals to the most people and, thus, sells well. As I said in my post, Greg, I do enjoy the dramatic photos with the smoke and steam which you guys produce. More power to you.
However, my preference in photos is toward the efficiently fired and run steam locomotive as it is easier to see the whole engine without the view being obstructed by excessive smoke.
Besides, I left Colorado to get away from the snow and cold among other reasons.
