We shipped freight to Silverton on the D&S--there's a picture in one of Dell McCoy's Trails Among the Columbines of us unloading lumber from a boxcar at the Silverton depot. We often shipped l.c.l. stuff for our restaurant by rail in those days. We'd run out of CO2 for our Coke machine, and Durango Coca-Cola would drop a cylinder off at the Durango depot and we had it by noon by rail.
