The steam engines are being used on the early morning freight runs during the warmer months. When I was there last week for the charter, the diesel SW was doing the honors.
As to which steamer would be used, it just depends on what's hot. Usually, it will be one of the two larger engines (90 or the 475), because of the weight of the modern freight cars. Once, they did double-head 475 and 89 on a particularly heavy train. Last week, the gentleman who is responsible for freight ops indicated to me that they would double-head with steam again in the future if the tonnage called for it.
