Thanks to Tim for the post of photo updates. I am seeing several details now that are interesting to note for us rivet counters spinning smiley sticking its tongue out First, the air tank on the engineer's side appears to have been replaced with a newer convex end (vs. the fireman's side) which looks to be more traditional with the ends inset from the body. I think I recall this was a FRA change in pressure vessels?

On the new pilot I was thinking they were back dating to pre-1940 so a two strap front step bracket would have been in order but she is returning with the single strap version > post 1940. I also spy one flag holder sprouting up on the pilot beam. Seems like these have been removed from most of the operating locomotives on the C&TS over the years.

Here is a set of “pre C&TS” photos by Bill Hoshiko from the return trip to Colorado from So. California for some comparisons.
