Thanks to Tim for the post of photo updates. I am seeing several details now that are interesting to note for us rivet counters
First, the air tank on the engineer's side appears to have been replaced with a newer convex end (vs. the fireman's side) which looks to be more traditional with the ends inset from the body. I think I recall this was a FRA change in pressure vessels?
On the new pilot I was thinking they were back dating to pre-1940 so a two strap front step bracket would have been in order but she is returning with the single strap version > post 1940. I also spy one flag holder sprouting up on the pilot beam. Seems like these have been removed from most of the operating locomotives on the C&TS over the years.
