Sorry--tain't filthy. That's red oxide primer on the smokebox door, I do believe. The rest of the smokebox front is unprimered iron/steel with a touch of rust. The smokebox has yet to be painted. I counsel patience; the Antonito shop guys are making good progress, even if it sometimes doesn't look like it.

Another reminder of "Mike's Rule": It will be done when it is done, and not a moment before!
