The possibilities are endless!!!
(1) Since they are not running on Sunday, this could be a day for a charter special perhaps...All engines would be available if the RR wished to operate that day. At least it would not conflict with passenger ops
(2) Preseason specials would also be good as they would not disrupt regular operations, assuming track is clear and engines are ready.
(3) Possibly a monthly freight special, or some photo train. Pick the slowest day of the week. Run Chama-Osier-Chama. Maybe start at Cumbres
and end there. Again lots of ways to go. You could start at Cumbres and doublehead Chama-Cumbres then use the helper for the freight after splitting at Cumbres. Get to Osier before the WB is ready to go, then you have time on the WB portion for photos.
(4) After season trips, again this is gravy time since the regular trains are no longer running.
(5) Fall colors specials are nice, but this is their busiest time of the year, thus the ticket prices will be highest for charters.
(6) I believe their might be a market for a passenger photo special. This would be more regular folks, who don't really care about freight trains, but would enjoy the photography and seeing their train several times in action. This could be a good one for the C&TS as you could sell concessions like normal, and sell more tickets than on a freight.
Again the possibilities are endless. The GM needs to figure out at what point a trip is feasible(revenue-wise) or not.
