Hi,
This is a follow-up to a question I asked on another thread which brought no answer, probably due to the heading.
About a year ago I visited Madagascar, including the small island of Nosy Be which used to have a sugar factory served by a 3-foot gauge railroad. As you can see on [
www.internationalsteam.co.uk] I found the remains of five US-built steam engines (Baldwin/HK Porter), as well as two Plymouth diesels. Some of the steam engines had some numbers stamped on some parts of what was left of them and I would be curious to know if these numbers mean anything to anyone on this forum. Also present were two US-built steam winches at the company wharf, one later converted to electric power.
