Engineer William P. Price (1885-1974) made $2,800 for 52 weeks work in 1939. He lived in a boarding house in 1940, which was unusual because his wife Aline (1886-1978) also lived there. Most railroaders who lived in boarding houses were single.
The Prices lived in Cimarron in 1930 and must have endured some unemployment as Aline listed her husband's occupation as farmer. They family owned a house then as teenage sons Chester and Earle lived with them.
Engineer Price started as a fireman on 4-21-1906 and was promoted to engineer on 10-11-1910. He was engineer on the last run east through Cedar Creek in 1949 on the 456.
He and Aline are buried in Valley Lawn Cemetery in Monrose with `together forever'' on their grave marker.
