Summer Trip D&S, C&T, Rio Grande Scenic

This summer I am planning on making a trip to the C&T and Rio Grande Scenic, and if money allows the D&S. I was wondering if you guys know of campsites in the Chama, Alamosa, and Durango area that are fairly cheap to pitch a tent? I'd stay in a hotel but I'm a college kid, and I'm coming from Oklahoma, so that's already have the trip funds.

I plan to spend 3-4 days camping in Chama. Ride the train, spend the others photographing the train. Depending on how much the cost for camping (mostly work schedule) I might come around the time of a Friends work day and partake in that.

I'll probably only spend a day in Alamosa riding the train and then photographing it out of town the next before heading home or to Durango.


Course this trip depends on how I feel about taking my 95 Thunderbird on such a long trip. It needs new shocks and struts before I even think about taking it that far.
