I was taught how to do spins and recover from them in a C-140A during my flight training for my Private Pilots Cert. What a kick!
The C-140 had flaps which were kinda useless, so I learned how to sideslip up and into buffet without stalling and if it did stall the 140 would start to roll over the top which helped in the stall recovery.
The picture is of my dads Homebuilt all metal twin of his own design. It is a 5 place with 2 150hp lyc. and has a cruise speed of 120mph at
2100 rpm. The highest it was ever flown was with 4 people in it to an alt of 16500ft over the top of Mt Rainier and at that altitude it still had a rate of climb of about 500ft per min. It was never flown any higher as we did not have an Oxy system in the plane.
