Attempting this with a steam locomotive is very difficult and dangerous. Once the steam locomotive is in the inverted position, water goes through the throttle valve into the drypipe and cylinders (because the dome and throttle are now the bottom of the boiler). This causes a great loss of power, loss of air speed, and in most cases a steam locomotive will go into a non-recoverable flat spin (in a inverted position) and crash.......
