Just a note of caution to you and others, be very careful about using Maxwell drawings as a sole source. But they are a good starting point.

With any drawings there are some pretty wild discrepancies and even mistakes that come up often enough that you should always corraberate with other sources when available.

John Maxwell accumulated a vast amount of material during his time and converted a lot of it into material that he produced, sometimes from field dimensions that he took, sometimes not.

Back in the 70's, it was common for model imports and kits to be produced inaccurately based on Maxwell drawings alone.

The most reliable source of information I can reccommend for Caboose #1006 short of actually doing the work yourself, is to invest in a Grandt Line Kit to verify dimensions and detail.

My comments on the Maxwell collection are not intended in any way to be disrespectful to John and his work. Some of it is really good.

Just be as careful as you can be with your research. Cliff Grandt was extremely careful with his. As you work through this, consult folio sheets, and as many other drawings as you can. Also be aware there are a lot of differences among the C&S caboose fleet in particular. Consider too that any sources, sometimes especially railroad folio sheets, can be way off. Maxwell used folio sheets often.

There isn't anyting more rewarding than researching a project like this.
