Actually, I'm still the same size.....well, maybe a little bigger here and there.
I really don't remember ever being cold....but we were used to the coolness in that car. Being set out at Tennessee Pass in January must have been a little brisk!
The first 2 outfit cars (the first one was an x D&SL) probably had zero insulation. Originally we had a coal burning stove, but Dad changed it to a deisel heater. The final car my Father had was one of the X Pullman troop carrier cars from World War 2. It actually had some insulation and was bigger, but I never lived in it. Mom and I were in a real house (log cabin in Grand Lake, CO) so I could attend the same school and not change every few weeks. We had a bathroom and a shower....and TV!!!!!!
Maybe that was the good old days??????
