What I have noticed by its conspicuous absence in the reader comments to both articles is any sympathy whatever, not to mention notice of, the train crew. Those two guys in the cab had to ride it out, with the full knowledge that there was nothing on God's earth they could have done to avoid this tragedy. After all, trains can't take evasive action.
