Yes to Hobbs Spur. This was up grade from Bates in the vicinity of the Cavenaugh mill location. I have not found or looked for it on the ground. I can probably find milepost info for it when I get a chance. Armed with some milepost info we might make an outing of it sometime to try to find it. As I understand it, Hobbs was a ranch name that had a dairy and at some point in time shipped milk on SVRy. I believe it was up above Bridge Crk and to the West. Seems like I have seen photos of the ranch site which is pretty much just ruins. As to why a spur was needed your guess is as good as mine unless they actually shipped milk in such quantity that a box car was spotted and exchanged daily. This would have been a good question to ask the late Ron Harr. Perhaps Jim Grigsby may know more about it.
