Fred, Jerry, et al -
IIRC I have purchased gasoline for my automobile in Alamosa, Antonito, Chama, Cortez, Creede, Delores, Del Norte, Durango, Lake City, Monte Vista, Ouray, Pagosa Springs, Rico, Ridgway, Saguache, Sargent(s?), Silverton, South Fork, Telluride, and yes - even Bayfield and Farmington (but not Tiffany) - at various times over the past fifty years. As this was usually from National Brand stations, I'm doubtful that much of it was actually produced in the Farmington area - but there's no way to know for sure.
Due to the well-known potency of New Mexico Mexican Food - especially
chile verde con frijoles - I have also HAD gas while in Narrow Gauge Country (i.e. the Greater-than-Farmington Area) several times over the past fifty-plus years - which may explain why my singing and yodeling is off-key some of the time, and a few of my photos a bit out of focus

* This problem has eased somewhat the past several years, after Kelly's Café in Chama was destroyed by what some people claim was spontaneous internal combustion - see [
