This view from the mid-twenties shows some of the South Baker Yard. The building on the extreme right is the round house, as rebuilt after the 1920/21 fire. Building to the left with the windows is an office and store room. The original machine shop was about in this location but it also burned. Proceeding left we have the car shop and the new machine shop. The shadows make it look like one building, but the car shop is actually ahead of the macine shop. The smoke stacks in the background are from the California Pacific Utilities generation plant, that was fired with shavings and hog fuel from the OLC mill, which was to the right.
The trackage in the foreground is of particular interest. Note that the tracks nearest to and furthest from the camera are three rail, but the third rails are on opposite sides. I don't think I have any photos that show more of this and none of the maps I have show which tracks are three rail, so I do not have a good explaination for it.
