It appears that the Wilsons in the Salida engine service were brothers. I haven't been able to confirm that positively but there is evidence to suggest this.
Christopher Rice Wilson (3-3-1879=5-26-1944) was the oldest but the one with the least seniority. C Rice (as written on his headstone) started on 8-8-1909 and was promoted to engineer on 10-23-1920. Three men hired as fireman ater him were promoted to engineer before him. C.R. Wilson was No. 14 in 1940.
William L. Wilson (1-15-1883=4-26-1954) was No. 9 and Charles D. Wilson (2-14-1890=6-10-1969) was No. 10.
Charles Wilson and William Wilson were listed as brothers in the 1910 census. Both were listed as fireman for the railroad. There are some age differences from census page and the headstones.
William Wilson and C. Rice Wilson appear to be buried in the same cemetery plot in Fairview Cemetery in Salida.
