Don, The contiuous draft was a 3/4" rod that ran from coupler to coupler thru the center sill it was supposed to keep some of the strain from the pulling off the frame but as trains got bigger and heavier they failed quite a bit .I think there may be a few MOW cars in Chama that still have that system. Fred
