DONE!
Well more or less. Save for a few minor touches.
But never the less for the first time in nearly 60 years all of our former D&RGW San Juan cars are GREEN again.
The 310 will be cut in the train this coming weekend right between the Chama and 325. She rides smooth and soft on her newly turned wheels and rebuilt trucks. If your in the area come out and let us know what you think.
The freight cars have been set out for the last few weeks, we have been running just the three coaches. Now it will be four green Rio Grande coaches and one green Rio Grande C-19.
From the B end looking forward.
Now the few minor touches I mentioned earlier involve the stove.
Yes that is the original tin shroud from the San Juan days.
The plan is to remove the shroud and repaint it. We are also going to repaint the metal heat shield on the wall silver.
Note the box that used to contain an axe, and the old electrical switches.
