Re: Scenic and the C&TS, an Oral History

Before Bob Keller and associates took on the C&TS, they were busy on building the Tahoe, Trout Creek & Pacific Railroad at South Lake Tahoe. Over the course of several years, they assembled equipment at a lumber yard south of Alviso in San Jose, California. The site is now a landscaped pile of former San Jose garbage, but I recall passing by on the old Mountain View - Alviso road watching as the collection grew. In the Peninsula Living section of June 20, 1970, there was a major photo story of their work. At that point, they had laid 1000 feet of track at Lake Tahoe with 4000' more planned before a scheduled July 4th opening. I have scanned a couple of pictures from that story here:
