Parts of "
White Desertare included in "Otto Perry's
Moffat Route"DVD. This DVD is the work of The Rocky Mountain Railroad Club and Machines of Iron. This is the only video of train operation over Rollins Pass that I know of. Even though the Hill Route part of this 60 minute video is not lengthy, about 10 minutes, it is great to see. It is unfortunate that there is little video from early RR times.
And on the subject of Rotaries, it is written that David H. Moffat placed a 190? order for what was then the largest rotary built. The Eastern RR powers wanted so much to help the Moffat line, that they managed to 'lose' the new rotary on its way to Colorado - in the winter, of course.
