What's the date on the valuation map?
My 1991 copy of 'Ticket to Toltec' says Dalton was a 10-car siding at mp 338.9, removed around 1913. It lists Broad Spur at mp 343.00.
My copy of the Historic Preservation study says 'Dalton's' at mp 338.9 was active from 1910 to 1930. It lists 'Broad's' at mp 343.0 as active around 1919.
If I remember correctly Earl has said that the location of Broad's Spur moved around a bit. From a waybill-generating perspective, it was probably simpler to move the name than to abolish a station designation and create a new one, especially if the customer is the same.
So it may be that whereever Frank Broad was logging was referred to, and waybilled as, 'Broad's Spur,' even if that happened to be at a location that (prior to 1913) was referred to as Dalton, and the valuation map simply reflects that.
