Certainly looks like the Republic of El Salvador has different idea on how to keep the trains, even if they don't have a lot of traffic. It is a lot different than the fate of FEGUA and former IRCA tracks in Guatemala. In Guatemala the government has looked the other way as the former railroad is plundered by thieves for scrap steel. Nearly 70 km or more of track has been stolen as well as bridges stripped of some steel work.
Reports of my death are premature!!!!
Maybe it's time to check this out again?
