But as I recall, the running gear suffered minimal damage, but was in need of a complete overhaul in the first place. The boiler also suffered minimal damage, a few staybolts were broken and a couple of flues and staybolts were weeping when the engine was hydroed. The good news is that none of the firebox sheets were scorched and the only problems found during the hydrostatic test were in places "easily" fixed. Of course, a thorough examination of the boiler will be needed, one done with the jacket and lagging removed.
