Hallo zusammen,
The SchBB is a 600mm Railroad ->
www.schbb.ch
No this engine was built with two Klien-Lindner-Hohlachsen to enable it to run through 15m radiused curves. To give it a smoother ride over the well-kept and amply built Kleinbahn network, the workshops changed the two axles to normal ones. This gave it a minimum radius of 30m in curves.
"Taxus" is the botanical, latin term for yew tree, the owner named the first steam- and diesellocomotives after bushes and trees. For example the then most powerful and longest Engine was named "Sequoia".
Yes, Russ, Kleinbahn menans little railroad, but it was after a German law that dictated what parameters are to be maintained for different "sizes" of Railroads.
The valve gear is Stephenson, the only confusing thing is, the coupling rods were not mounted when I took the picture in April. By now the only "missing" parts are the two safety valves that will be put on instead of the German standard "Ackermann" type.
Thanks for asking!
Urias
