In Switzerland the Schinznacher Baumschulbahn will bring the 600mm gauge
Taxus back to operation.
This engine was built in 1917 by Krauss in Munich for the Heeresfeldbrigaden but when delivered in 1918 it went straight on the spare pile.
Around 1921 it was sold to the "Graeflich von Arnimschen Kleinbahn" in Bad Muskau. After WW2 and the formation of the DDR it was taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1951 and got the Number 99 3311 and remained on its then so called Muskauer Waldeisenbahn network.
In 1977 the Locomotive along with 16 freight cars was sold to the Schinznacher Baumschulbahn in Switzerland to start the Operatoin of this two mile railroad in 1978.
By 1987 the Locomotive was worn out and in need of a new Firebox put aside short after the celebration of its 70th Birthday.
In 1993 a new boiler was delivered and mounted.
Last week it ran (on compressed Air) on its own for the first time in 23 years.
2011 it is a desperately needed addition to the fleet operational steam Locomotives of the line.
