Aside from removing the jacket and lagging, retubing a boiler in Durango is run of the mill work for the winter on the engines. I believe one winter we completely re-flued the 478, the 480, and the 481, along with a lot of tubes one the others. The 478 also required a cap inspection the same winter; it was a lot of work.
