22A is the Mears toll road, not the SN right-of-way at the Cole Ranch. I met with the county commissioners Wednesday night for a discussion of the SN and 22A is the river road between the powerhouse and Howardsville, then continues on the Mears toll road to Eureka. The SN route between Howardsville and Eureka does not follow the toll road except for the first several hundred feet before the track crossed the river into Howardsville. The SN row through Cole Ranch shows a width of 200 feet because the railroad was platted before the underlying mining claim was patented and subsequently was subdivided into Cole Ranch. The Railroad Act of 1875 gave railroads a 200 feet wide path through public lands, and that's what is being contested by the owners of the Cole Ranch subdivision.
